Installation
Custom Home Transformation
There are generally three types of installation, Retro Fit, Stud to Stud and Brick to Brick.
1. Retro Fit. This is the most cost effective way of replacing your windows. Our installer will come and remove inner parts of your windows leaving all existing trim in place. New windows will be installed within existing frames, shimmed, and foamed in place. Exterior of your new windows will be capped to cover any exposed wood after which it gets caulked to prevent any water from getting into your frames. Interior finish will be done with quarter rounds and latex. Your existing casing will be caulked to your wall thus preventing any air drafts from entering your home.
2. Stud to Stud. All parts of your existing windows will be completely removed all the way back to the studs. New windows will be installed with new jamb extensions either in wood or vinyl. The exterior of your new windows will be complimented by new aluminum flashing that will tie your new windows with the existing structure of your home. All aluminum flashing will be caulked in order to ensure that no water can penetrate the perimeter. Windows will receive minimum of two passes of insulating foam after which new interior casing will be applied to finish up the job.
3. Brick to Brick. Very similar process as above with the difference that vinyl brick mould will be applied on your new windows. The gap between vinyl brick mould and wall will be foam insulated and caulk sealed. This is the neatest installation that delivers a stunning look for many years to come.
